A. Scope of application
This standard specifies the environmental protection requirements for plastic, paper,wood and other packaging materials used in commodities.
B. Environmental protection requirements for commodity packaging
1. The number of layers of commodity packaging must not exceed 3 layers, and the void ratio must not exceed 40%;
2.The packaging materials of the commodity must be made of a single material as much as possible.
3. The total content of lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium in commodity packaging must not exceed 100mg/kg;
4. The content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in ink used in commodity packaging and printing must not exceed 5% ( By weight);
5. The printing colors displayed on the plastic product packaging must not exceed 6 colors;
6. The paper product packaging must be produced with more than 75% renewable fiber raw materials;
7. The raw materials of the wooden product packaging must come from renewable persistent forest.
C. Detection methods
1. The detection of the total amount of heavy metals (lead,mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium) in commodity packaging is in accordancewith GB/T 10004-2008 ,use the method of Plastic composite films and bags for packaging dry composite & extrusion composite to proceed.
2. The detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the ink used in the printing of commodity packaging is carried out according to the method specified in GB/T 23986-2009 ,use the method of determination of volatile organic compounds (VOC) content in paints and varnishes - Gas chromatography to proceed.
